As always, the farm gets busier as the season progresses. Lots of things happening, so please, come on down and enjoy the fresh air, abundance of butterflies and growing Erda community.
The Backyard Farming Workshop Series presents… Low-Tech Homesteading
Learn about cast iron / dutch oven cooking (and sample some recipes!); greywater laundry to landscape; chicken tractors you can build and simple solar ovens. At the Gutierrez-Hubbell House located at 6029 Isleta (3 miles south of Rio Bravo) on Saturday 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. FREE! Pre-register with Colleen.
This season, Rio Valley Greenhouse (located at 2000 Harzman Rd SW, woman owned and operated in the South Valley!) helped us grow some of our tomato, eggplant and pepper starts. Now they are ready to go in the field and we need your help!
This Sunday 10:00 am–2:00 pm we have a Work Party on the farm. Stop by the Blake location to meet up with other volunteers, share a potluck lunch and support local agriculture! As always our events are kid friendly!
One of our members has apricots that are almost ready but needs help picking them. He is generously going to share his bounty with Erda, if you are interested in helping to pick these golden beauties, contact the farm.
This week, our Farmer’s Markets kick off and you will be able to find Erda produce at two locations this season:
